FAQ
What is a Unix timestamp?
A Unix timestamp is the total number of seconds (or milliseconds) from 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC to a specified time, widely used in computer systems to record time.
What's the difference between second and millisecond timestamps?
A second timestamp is a 10-digit number, e.g., 1700000000; a millisecond timestamp is a 13-digit number, e.g., 1700000000000. Millisecond precision is higher, and JavaScript's Date.now() returns millisecond values.
How to get the current timestamp?
The top of the page displays the current timestamp (seconds and milliseconds) in real-time, automatically refreshing every second without manual operation. You can also use Math.floor(Date.now() / 1000) to get the seconds value directly.

Seconds or milliseconds is decided here by digit count, which is right almost always and quietly wrong for millisecond values from before September 2001; and only two of the four outputs are unambiguous about time zone.
