Unicode Converter

Convert between Chinese characters and \uXXXX encoding, commonly used for handling JSON escape sequences or Unicode representations in programming.

FAQ

What is Unicode encoding?
Unicode is a global character encoding standard that assigns a unique code point to each character. For example, the Chinese character "中" has the Unicode code point U+4E2D, written as \u4e2d in JavaScript. Unicode covers almost all writing systems in the world, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, emoji, and more.

Why do I sometimes see strings starting with \u?
These are called Unicode escape sequences in many programming languages, used to represent characters that cannot be directly displayed or entered. They are common in JSON data, JavaScript source code, configuration files, and other scenarios, especially when the file encoding is not UTF-8. Non-ASCII characters are escaped as \uXXXX format. For example, "\u4e2d\u6587" in JSON represents "中文".
