Image Compression
Upload images, adjust quality and dimensions, compress locally in your browser, compare file sizes before and after compression, and download.
FAQ
What image formats are supported?
During upload, any image format readable by your browser is supported (JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, etc.). You can choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP as the output format. JPEG is suitable for photographic images, PNG is ideal for images requiring transparency or lossless quality, and WebP typically produces smaller files at equivalent quality levels.
Will compression reduce image quality?
Lossy compression (JPEG, WebP) reduces file size by lowering quality parameters. The lower the quality slider, the smaller the file but the more noticeable the quality loss. PNG uses lossless compression, so file size reduction is limited (mainly through dimension scaling). We recommend starting at 80% quality to strike a balance between image quality and file size.
Will my images be uploaded to a server?
No. All processing is completed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image files are never uploaded to any server, so you can use this tool with confidence.
