FAQ

What are the characteristics of each image format?
JPEG: Lossy compression, suitable for photos with smaller file sizes, does not support transparent backgrounds. PNG: Lossless compression, supports transparent backgrounds, suitable for icons, screenshots and images requiring detail preservation. WebP: Modern image format developed by Google, supports both lossy/lossless compression and transparency channels, files are typically 25-35% smaller than JPEG at the same quality level. BMP: Uncompressed bitmap format with very large files, almost unsuitable for web scenarios. GIF: Supports simple animations, maximum 256 colors, does not support semi-transparency effects.

How is WebP format compatibility?
WebP is supported by all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari 14+). However, some older software, system native image viewers and certain image editing software may not support WebP. For maximum compatibility, we recommend using JPEG or PNG.

Will image files be uploaded to the server?
No. All processing is completed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Image files are never uploaded to any server, so you can use this tool with confidence.
